Integrated Clinical and Support Services

Tennessee Oncology offers a comprehensive range of services designed to make your treatment as convenient as possible. Our goal is to completely manage your treatment, relieving you of any concerns so you can concentrate on getting better. Each board certified physician is supported by a professional medical staff of nurses and lab technologists along with friendly, experienced administrative staff. Each local clinic is your point of entry into our integrated system of care, which includes:

Specialized oncology nursing care: Certified oncology nurses assist your physician in managing your care. They work closely with you to ensure you are well informed and that the care you receive is second to none. They also assist in nutritional support and counseling services.
Laboratory services: Many tests and x-rays are performed in our offices and processed in our own laboratories. This is convenient, while helping ensure accuracy and expediting your results.
Outpatient chemotherapy: Each office is equipped with a comfortable treatment suite staffed with familiar faces. Our suites offer you the opportunity to develop supportive friendships with other patients during your treatments.
PET/CT Services: Tennessee Oncology owns and operates three state of the art GE Discovery PET/CT scanners. Two serving the Nashville area and one in Murfreesboro serving Rutherford and surrounding counties. These units provide simultaneous PET (Positron Emission Tomography) and CT (computer tomography) scanning, resulting in faster imaging results that can provide significantly improved tumor evaluation and cancer management.
Billing and reimbursement consulting: Each office has friendly, experienced and caring administrative staff who are happy to guide you through the confusing array of options and paperwork. They will help you with insurance coverage issues and file claims on your behalf.

Tennessee Oncology Health Psychology and Support Services

Dr. Amy Johnson and Dr. Sherian Anderson are psychologists who specialize in working with people who have been diagnosed with cancer at some time in their lives. They can help you and your family, your caregiver or support system know what to expect as all of you accept the diagnosis, manage your lives while you are in active treatment, adjust to long-term survivorship, and improve health habits. Our psychologists also know how to help people cope with the psychological tasks associated with caregiving, end-of-life and grief, if needed. You or a family member may choose to meet one-on-one with a psychologist, bring a spouse or partner with you, or come as a family.

Additionally, you may want to ask questions about the various support organizations available to those who have cancer. Dr. Johnson and Dr. Anderson are well-acquainted with the services you may want to access from your home using your phone or computer, as well as the group and financial support available in our community through organizations such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation, the American Cancer Society, or Gilda’s Club. Meeting with our psychologists is easy – just make an appointment at the front desk. We are glad to help!

Committed to Patient Satisfaction

The staff of Tennessee Oncology is genuinely concerned that you are fully satisfied with our services. For example, our courteous office staff helps you when you arrive and we make every effort to see you at your appointed time. We perform many of your tests and x-rays in our clinics so you don't have to go to another location.

Each of us wants to be sure you have a good experience when you are in our care, and we treat each contact with you as the most important one we'll ever make. We are always interested in improving our service. We value the opinions of our patients and welcome their comments.
