Dr.
Barnes is board certified in Internal Medicine and Hematology/Oncology.
He has been with Tennessee Oncology since July 2002. Dr. Barnes comes
to us from Vanderbilt where he completed his Hematology/Oncology fellowship
and did work in tumor cell biology. He completed medical school at the
University of Tennessee and completed his internal medicine residency
at Baptist Hospital here in Nashville.Dr.
Barnes has also worked in the area of cancer cell biology for St. Jude
Children's Research Hospital.
Dr.
Barnes specializes in all adult malignancies and is interested in benign
hematology including coagulation and clotting disorders. Dr. Barnes
holds memberships in the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the
American Society of Hematology and is the Division Chief of Oncology,
University of Tennessee, Baptist Hospital Residency Training Program.
Dr.
Barnes sees patients at the Skyline Office. When away from the office Dr. Barnes is an avid
outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, fishing, boating, martial arts, gardening
and spending time with his family.
