Amy Lee Johnson, Ph.D.

Amy Johnson, Ph.D.Dr. Johnson is a licensed psychologist specializing in psychological issues related to cancer diagnosis, treatment, long-term survival, and the end-of-life. She also enjoys working with the caregivers and loved ones of people who have been diagnosed with cancer. Dr. Johnson joined Tennessee Oncology in 1999 and comes to us from the University of Tennessee where she was the Director of Student Counseling Services. Prior to becoming a psychologist in 1993, she was a registered nurse who worked in surgical, medical, obstetrical, and public health settings for over 12 years.

Dr. Johnson obtained her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kentucky and she also holds a Masters Degree in community counseling from Tennessee Tech University. She is a member of the academic honors fraternity Phi Kappa Phi. Dr. Johnson holds membership in the American Psychological Association, the American Psychosocial Oncology Society (APOS), and The Tennessee Psychological Association. She is also listed in the National Register of Health Service Providers.

When out of the office, you could find Dr. Johnson, hiking, reading, gardening, enjoying music, travelling, spending time with family and/or her favorite hobby - genealogy, or serving in various community organizations including her local church.

Dr. Johnson sees patients at our Summit Medical Center Office, Skyline Medical Center Office, and our Murfreesboro Office at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
