Tennessee Oncology Welcomes Dr. Todd Bauer
Todd Bauer, M.D. has joined Tennessee Oncology, one of the nation’s leading community oncology research practices, as a medical oncologist and hematologist. He will serve as a medical oncologist and hematologist alongside other specialized physicians, nurses and staff at Baptist Hospital and conduct clinical trial research at the Drug Development Unit at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Since 2009 Dr. Bauer has been with Ohio State University’s Comprehensive Cancer Center in Columbus, Ohio, where he completed his fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute and served as Chief Fellow since 2011. Before that he served as Hugh Jackson Morgan Chief Resident for the Department of Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, Nashville Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. Bauer received an M.D. from Loyola University Chicago – Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Ill., and holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Saint Louis University in Missouri.
Dr. Bauer is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American College of Physicians. He has published studies on gastrointestinal malignancies and has presented oral presentations and posters at some of the nation’s leading oncology symposiums, including a poster presentation at the ASCO 2011 Annual Meeting on the effectiveness of chemotherapy in patients with advanced pancreas cancer.
