Dr.
Penley is board certified in Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine and has
been with Tennessee Oncology since 2005 Dr. Penley comes to us from The Consultant
Group here in Nashville where he had been in practice since 1987. He received
a BA Degree from University of Tennessee and received his MD from Bowman
Gray School of Medicine. His residency and medical oncology fellowship were
both completed at Vanderbilt University.
Dr. Penley’s areas of interest include all adult malignancies. He holds membership in the Nashville Academy of Medicine, the Tennessee Medical Association, and the American Medical Association. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), and serves on the ASCO Clinical Practice Committee, which he represents to the AMA CPT Editorial Panel. He is on the Board of Directors of the ASCO Foundation. He is currently the Vice President of the Tennessee Oncology Practice Society.
Dr. Penley
sees patients at the Baptist Office. When away
from the office Dr. Penley enjoys many outdoor activities including: whitewater
paddling, mountain biking, and backpacking. He is a member of the Tennessee
Scenic River Assoc. and is certified to teach swift water rescue by the American
Canoe Assoc. He is also an avid reader of history and historical fiction.
