Michael R. Savona, M.D.

Dr. Michael Savona is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and oncology. He joined Tennessee Oncology in 2011. Prior to coming to Nashville, Dr. Savona served as the Director of Clinical and Translational Research at the San Antonio Military Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Davidson College, and graduated from Wake Forest University Medical School in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He completed his residencies at the David Grant Medical Center, and the University of California at Davis, and his fellowship at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Dr. Savona specializes in myelodysplastic syndromes, myeloproliferative diseases, leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and blood and marrow transplantation. He has published widely in this area. He holds memberships in the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Hematology, and the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation.
Dr. Savona sees patients in the Sarah Cannon Center for Blood Cancers in the Atrium at the Centennial Medical Center.
