Lester Porter, MD

Dr. Porter is board certified in Medical Oncology and Internal Medicine. He has been with Tennessee Oncology since 2000 and has been practicing oncology since 1981. Dr. Porter comes to us from the St. Thomas Medical Group, prior to that he worked for the Vanderbilt Department of Medicine where he served as an instructor and associate professor. He continues to hold a clinical teaching position with Vanderbilt. Dr. Porter completed medical school at Medical College of Georgia and his oncology training at Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Porter specializes in general oncology and holds memberships in the American Society of Clinical Oncology, Nashville Academy of Medicine and served on the board of the American Cancer Society.

Dr. Porter sees patients in our St. Thomas Hospital Office and our McMinnville Office at Riverpark Hospital. When away from the office Dr. Porter enjoys hunting, fishing, golf, tennis, rugby football, and spending time with his family.
