Gautam G. Rao, M.D.

Dr. Rao is a Gynecologic Oncologist and has been with Tennessee Oncology since 2007.

Dr. Rao received his B.S. and M.D. degrees from the University of Miami. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Rao specializes in gynecologic oncology and is a member of several national societies including the American Medical Association, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Society of Gynecologic Oncologists, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and American Association of Cancer Research.

His research interests include clinical trials for the treatment of gynecologic malignancies and prevention of chemotherapy related complications. He also has a special interest in ovarian low malignant potential tumors.

Dr. Rao sees patients at the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center/Centennial Medical Center office in Nashville, TN; Baptist Hospital; Williamson Medical Center; as well as our Franklin, TN office. When away from the office he enjoys swimming and playing with his two children.
